Mom and Dan visit Charleston

Mom and her new BF Dan came to Charleston on Sunday and stayed at the Vendue Inn (great place).

On Sunday we ate at the fantabulous restaurant called McCrady's. So good!

Then on Monday, they came over to our house for some grub a chez Street. One Way smoked some halibut, I made Tiramisu ... it was great. The tiramisu, that is.

Anyway, it was really easy to make and Mom requested I post it on the blog. So here goes:

3 eggs: separate yolks from whites; throw whites in your mixer and yolks in a bowl
1/2 cup of sugar: mix thoroughly with the yolks
8 oz. of Marscapone cheese: mix with yolk mixture about 5 min.; you may also put this over a low heat on the stove, until there is a ribbon trail left by your spoon
Then, throw a dash of sugar in the egg whites and beat until stiff peaks can be formed. Fold whites into yolk mixture.
20 lady fingers: dip lightly in coffee with a dash of liquor of you choice

Then, I did three layers with lady fingers, cheese mixture, topped with sifted cocoa powder. The last layer I also added some unsweetened chocolate shavings.

MmmmmMMMMmmmmmm
