Well, the home appraisal came back today. Now the Street family is one step closer to homeownership!!!
Now all that is left is the home inspection ... and a whole lot of paperwork.
I'm still waiting on hearing back on that job in Jacksonville. Let's hope!
Here are some more photos of the house for your viewing pleasure:

Anyone read that crappy-sap story about the broken down standard bred? That woman was pretty upstanding taking in a starving broodmare and then eventually euthanizing it ... but GWAD it was so poorly written ...
The book you disparagingly refer to is entitled Chosen by a Horse, by Susan Richards. I found the book to be well written, and the story to be beautiful. Too bad it was lost on the likes of you.
You said some nasty things about her, but we should all consider the source. Susan Richards is a published, best-selling author. You, judging by the drivel you post, will never be.

p.s. what does "GWAD" stand for?
You've got to be the first person to comment on my site.
Sorry to upset you with my opinion about a book (I guess to the point where you felt it appropriate to post on my personal blog).
Susan Richards seems like a nice person, but I happen to be a book snob and don't like her style of writing ... basically it just ate at raw emotion with no other substance. But, that's my humble opinion ...
Now then, what does shock me is that you took time to post on my blog about some book that wasn't worth its price. I said in my post on FHOTD, that she was pretty upstanding. Yeah, its a beautiful story ... but doesn't mean she can write a lick.
GWAD = typo for gawd ... which is a way of saying "god" only in a more annoying fashion.
By the way, Irisheyes, if you want to critique my writing feel free. You can see my PUBLISHED work at these web sites: (just search for Lindsay Street)

No, they aren't books. But I never claimed to be a novelist. And even if I did? I wouldn't expect everyone to agree (or like me for that matter).
Critiquing writing style is important for every writer. I have been writing for publications since I was 16 and have more written pieces torn apart than most people have ever written. But it makes me a stronger writer in the long run.
Geez, I wish you had a personal blog I could post this reply on ... maybe you'll check back and see my response?
Meanwhile, I'll refer you to this if I catch ya on FHOTD!
Street Mutt: saw the comments on Fugly and had to wander over here and check it out....
I'm with you, I actually paid for that book and was sadly let down. I got sucked in because I have also taken Standardbreds in and have a serious soft spot for the breed - her story was a soppy mess IMHO and not worth the price.
